Air Duct Cleaning
Air ducts are the delivery mechanism for a home or businesses heating and cooling system. Many times air ducts are referred to as the "lungs" of the home, meaning they breathe air in and exhale air out. They connect to the furnace or air conditioning system and transport the conditioned air to the living or office space.
Why Should Air Ducts Be Cleaned?
Because air ducts are pulling air from spaces and delivering the conditioned air back to those spaces, they are also sucking up any particulate or debris and pumping it back into the same space. It is not uncommon for an air duct to accumulate several pounds of dirt and debris. When these particulates enter the air ducts they may fully cycle through the system or stay lodged in the air ducts, only to come lose months or years down the roads. How Often Do Most Ducts Need to Be Cleaned?
As dust and debris accumulates in your home's duct system, the air that travels through can pick up those particulates and spread them throughout your home. As humans we are constantly producing dust. Add pets, cooking odors, renovation projects and smoking into the mix and your duct system, could dirty much quicker than most. This is why the National Air Duct Cleaners Association recommends an air duct cleaning every 3-5 years.
